Purpose and preparation
Test an application from vacancy discovery through document upload and submission review. Use a test vacancy and fictional applicant details. Include the applicant-tracking system and any external assessment in the scope.
A practical example
An applicant uploads a résumé, corrects a file-format error and resumes a saved application.
How to check it
- Locate the vacancy requirements and application entry point. Identify account creation, attachments, assessment tools and session limits before testing.
- Complete fields and uploads with the keyboard and assistive technology. Check file requirements, progress, error messages and whether repeated information can be reused.
- Save and resume the test application, then review it before a permitted submission. Record barriers that could prevent completion before a deadline.
What can be missed
A contact address for accommodations does not repair an inaccessible application route. Document the immediate alternative and the underlying product issue separately.
