Test Shopify Cart and Checkout Accessibility
Published by whatisADA / Grow Wild Agency · Updated
Purpose and preparation
Review the actual cart and checkout configuration as a complete purchase process. Include accelerated checkout and installed extensions where they are offered. Use an authorized test mode and fictional customer information.
A practical example
A shopper adds a variant, changes quantity, applies a discount and chooses a delivery method before reviewing the total.
How to check it
- Test product options and cart updates, checking names, errors and price-change announcements. Include a cart drawer if the theme uses one.
- Follow each offered checkout route through delivery and payment entry in the test environment. Record any provider or extension boundary where behavior changes.
- Review the order, correct an error and reach a permitted test confirmation. Check mobile layout, keyboard focus and the clarity of the final amount.
What can be missed
Theme repairs do not necessarily affect hosted checkout or accelerated payment interfaces. Keep the responsible theme, extension or provider attached to each finding.
Record your test
Use this worksheet to record what you actually checked. Notes stay on this device when you choose Save; they are not sent to us. Avoid personal or confidential information on shared devices.
These are your observations, not automated results or a conformance certificate. A complete evaluation needs appropriate scope, supported technologies, all applicable criteria and relevant page states.
