Audit an Appointment Booking Journey

Published by whatisADA / Grow Wild Agency · Updated

Purpose and preparation

Review the booking process from service choice to confirmation and rescheduling information. Include date, time-zone and availability changes. Use a test calendar so the review does not reserve real appointments.

A practical example

A visitor selects a consultation, changes the date after a slot becomes unavailable and confirms contact details.

How to check it

  1. Map the service, practitioner, calendar, time and contact steps. Identify alternatives to visual calendar navigation and record time-zone information.
  2. Select and change dates and times using the keyboard and assistive technology. Check unavailable states, selected values and announcements when availability updates.
  3. Trigger a validation error and complete a test booking. Verify that the confirmation names the service, date, time zone and next action clearly.

What can be missed

An accessible calendar widget does not guarantee an accessible booking process. Slot expiry, time-zone changes and confirmation details need separate checks.

Record your test

Use this worksheet to record what you actually checked. Notes stay on this device when you choose Save; they are not sent to us. Avoid personal or confidential information on shared devices.

These are your observations, not automated results or a conformance certificate. A complete evaluation needs appropriate scope, supported technologies, all applicable criteria and relevant page states.
