Review Social Images, Captions and Link Context

Published by whatisADA / Grow Wild Agency · Updated

Purpose and preparation

Prepare social content so its message remains available beyond the visual asset. Use the platform's current alternative-text and caption features, and verify the published result. Keep important instructions in the post text or an accessible destination.

A practical example

An event announcement uses a graphic with the date, venue and registration link while a short video explains the agenda.

How to check it

  1. Identify all essential information in the graphic or video. Put key event details in ordinary post text and add a purposeful image alternative using the platform's supported feature.
  2. Review video captions for accuracy, timing and meaningful sounds. Avoid relying on automatic output without checking names, dates and instructions.
  3. Inspect the post after publication or in an appropriate test preview. Check link context, image alternatives and captions on the platform and device users will encounter.

What can be missed

Accessibility features vary by platform and post type. An alternative entered during composition may be lost when content is cross-posted or converted to another format.

These are your observations, not automated results or a conformance certificate. A complete evaluation needs appropriate scope, supported technologies, all applicable criteria and relevant page states.
